First Open Day in Austria
On 21 August 2019 OESB welcomed young refugees and stakeholders to the first Open Day. Even though August is still in the middle of our holiday season around 25 people (potential participants, stakeholders) visited the event.
The project EUStartGees was presented in two cycles by OESB’s entrepreneurship experts and consultants Lukas Sommer and Najib Moubarid in Arabic and German while Evgeniya Chulis offered information in Russian and Andrea Tauber in English.
The open organisation of the event fostered lively group discussions, one-to-one exchange as well as informative talks between potential participants and our consulting team.
Next to young refugees not only gathering information for themselves but also for family members and friends the event enabled the creation of synergies with existing programmes and projects counselling refugees. Entrepreneurs with a refugee background showed great interest in acting as mentors and meetings with them were organised.
The entire team will make an effort to carry this positive atmosphere into the upcoming training programme transfer its motivation to the participants.
